AIM (authorsinthemargins) is a writers' network for exchanging edits. The service is operated at authorsinthemargins.com.

Account information from your sign-in provider (name, email) via Clerk.

Profile information you provide during onboarding: bio, writing genres, challenges, insecurities, strengths, and username.

Writing you submit: titles, genres, full text of pieces, and notes about the feedback you want.

Edits you give: margin comments and overall notes on pieces from your network.

Network data: connections, invites, and connection requests between writers.

To match you with editors in your network and deliver edits back to authors.

To show relevant profile context to editors reading your work (genres, challenges, insecurities, strengths).

To send transactional email: invites, edit requests, feedback notifications, and account-related messages via Resend.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your writing to train AI models.

Your pieces are shared only with writers in your AIM network who are matched to edit them — not publicly, not searchable, not an open directory.

Editors matched to your piece can see your stated challenges and insecurities to give better feedback.

You retain ownership of your work. AIM does not claim copyright over your writing.

Account data is processed by Clerk (authentication).

Application data (profiles, pieces, edits, connections) is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase in the EU (eu-north-1).

The application is hosted on Vercel. Email is sent through Resend.

We keep your account and writing for as long as your account is active.

You may delete drafts or withdraw pieces awaiting editors from within the app.

Account deletion is not yet self-serve — contact us at hello@authorsinthemargins.com to request deletion of your account and associated data.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and export your personal data under GDPR.

To exercise these rights, email hello@authorsinthemargins.com. We will respond within 30 days.

AIM uses essential cookies for authentication (Clerk session cookies) and invite links (a short-lived cookie to connect you with your inviter on sign-up).

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
